First and formost, a HUGE thank you to all our builders, volunteers, vendors, and businesses around Campbell River who donated their time, products and made this event so successful! We held the build at our building this year and it went fantastically! We built 3 structures over the weekend; A beautiful 2 story playhouse, complete with twirly slide, secret antrance, sand box and a small storage space underneath for mom and dad! Thank you: " Don't poke the Shawmen" Shaw. A stunning Green House/Shed combo, for all your gardening needs! Thank you: " Royal Shed Heads", Royal Le Page and Royal Bank. Lovely sloped roof shed. Nice and bright with a large window! Thank you: "Ouch My Finger" The sheds are an ongoing project, and all are to be finished by June 28th. We will post photos on their progress! There was also one last team that was unable to make the Handyman kick off weekend, but will be here this coming weekend, and over the next month building us a very exciting project! Keep checking in with the blog to find out what that is!!! Here are a few images from all the fun had this weekend. Again, thank you so much to everyone who came out and helped out or supported us, with out you we wouldn't be able to do it!

We have 2 beautiful sheds already here! both are 8 x 8 and one has a beautiful little porch attached to the front, thank you to Windsor Mill for there gorgeous work! Welcome to our new website and blog! Blogging is new to me (us) so bear with me (us)! We are so happy that summer is finally approaching! We have been busy little bee's out in the garden, preparing the beds, weeding ( which is quite the undertaking) ( we are novice gardeners!) and of course planting! It has been a fun adventure both creating and keeping up with the garden. What a great resource for our members. It is already being used as a therapy garden, with certain members coming in almost daily to access it, use it to create better moods or take out frustrations! Mind you, we have been doing a bit of both of it ourselves! We also have our Handyman Challenge coming up, May 24th and 25th this year. For those who don't know, Handyman Challenge is our big yearly fundraiser. Most of our programming is funded by fundraisers and generous donations and Handyman is our main one! Please see the Handyman section for more detail. This year we are holding the build at our premise on the corner of 9th and Dogwood. Our mini market has already filled up and the projects this year are fantastic! make sure to stop by and see the progress! It also gives you a chance to hoke around our building and check it out! |
